Visitation will be on Thursday, July 1, from 10:00 a.m. Judie’s legacy of faith, family, and love will be carried on by her four children, Corina (Jerry) Kolanczyk, Dana (Mike) Kiesner, Dale (Tina) Piper, and Cara (Brian) Curry her 10 grandchildren, Derek (Chelsea), Jack (Taylor), Trentin, Stephen, Rachael, Abby, Jacob, Alayna, Chuck, and Tyler 3 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Madelyn, and Quinn her brother, David (Jolene) Selleck many extended family and friends, and her beloved dog, Mugzie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and James Selleck brother, James Selleck infant sister, Susan Rae husband, Fred Piper and best friend, Sena Golat. She was happiest spending time with family, laughing and playing cribbage together. and that he was honored with major obituaries in every daily paper, including the Telegram. Judie enjoyed baking sweet treats for her family, friends, and neighbors and was always quick to offer food and great conversation to everyone she met. In those days the Telegram relied heavily on freelances. She loved to host celebrations and decorate for the holidays. She also started the Northern Lights 4H Club in Superior.įamily was the most important thing to her. She was the Woman of the Moose Senior Regent from 2007-2008 and was awarded the WOTM International co-worker of the year in 2003. Judie was a member of and volunteered her time and talents to the Women of the Moose and Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church. In addition to raising 4 wonderful children, she worked as a bookkeeper for many local businesses. She graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1959 and attended WITC. She was born on May 16, 1941, to Margaret (Moran) and James Selleck. Judith, “Judie” as most called her, was a lifelong resident of Superior. Judie was a child of God and saw the love and gifts in everyone she met. She entered the presence of Jesus and joined all who were waiting for her. Judith Ann (Selleck) Piper, 80, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Essentia Miller Dwan Hospital in Duluth, surrounded by her children.
